Goddamnit Dan Savage… someone needs to throw something more serious than glitter at him.
The queer cis people that defend this guy’s “ally status” makes me rage even more.

EDIT: After thinking about this image for a bit and doing some research, I’d like to clarify why I felt this was deserved to be reblogged.
I don’t take this as complete denunciation of Dan Savage’s campaign to end bullying and suicide in gay and lesbian teens. Rather, this image is a criticism of Dan Savage himself and how he favors gay and lesbian issues much more than bisexual and transgender issues, sometimes to the point of belittling said groups in his advice columns, even though he often likes to represent himself the most open-minded sex columnist in the world. That doesn’t even include his insensitivity with which he handled the fallout from Prop 8.
I think this post (http://bifurious.wordpress.com/) and this post (http://gudbuytjane.wordpress.com/) say it better than I could. This is a textbook example of policies not people. Support the program for highlighting the horrible bullying of LGBT youth today, and for making meaningful advances against bigotry. Do not support the founder when he says something bigoted himself.
One last note, I don’t believe the image is using a stereotype of an affluent white gay man adopting babies and going to Europe, rather a specific example of Dan Savage citing this as an example of why it gets better. I don’t expect, nor do I want, an apology for being white. That isn’t what white privilege means. It means being aware that no matter what you might do or think, a person will likely get more advantages in life being white and/or male over those who are not. DON’T apologize. DO promote social equality in all of it’s forms.
